I’ll be honest, I’ve been writing about Christmas for months. Safe to say there’s been times, especially during the summer heatwave, I found it rather difficult to muster a festive feeling but now December is almost here, I wanted to share with you one collection I’ve returned to again and again.
Titled, ‘Timeless Traditions, Reimagined’, and incorporating not just decorations but candles, accessories and tableware too, the 2025 holiday collection from Danish design brand Ferm Living invites us all to take a slower, more intentional approach to our celebrations.

Revisiting familiar time-honoured customs through a contemporary lens, every item may have been designed to mark a singular moment in the calendar, but they’re made to be loved and lived with for years.
Personally, I’ve always been a huge fan of Ferm Living’s take on Christmas, picking up an item or two whenever I visit their Copenhagen boutique. So, whether you’re looking for some inspiration on how to refresh what you’ve already got, decorating your home for the very first time or just wanting to put a bow on something, here’s more about my favourites.

Firstly, when it comes to creating a Scandi style Christmas you won’t go far wrong with a selection of opaque and translucent glass baubles, but if metallics are your thing then be sure to take a look at ‘Bellure’ and ‘Orrith’ too. With their abstract shapes referencing those found in nature, and available in both a rustic bronze or glazed silver finish, they’re sure to bring some understated interest and subtle sparkle to your tree.
Meanwhile, if it’s more of a classic handcrafted take you’re going for this year, then maybe look at investing in some of the new ‘Cone Bells,’ or mixing and matching handwoven rattan pieces from the ‘Braided Baubles’ series in with paper decorations or foliage.

When it comes to counting down to Christmas throughout the rest of the house however, Ferm Living have also introduced ‘Vari’ quilted sacks and stockings made from three different coloured beautiful velvets. They’ve given their classic Danish ‘kalenderlys’, or Christmas calendar candles a Japandi twist, released a number of seasonal scented candles, as well as launched the elegant ‘Soothe Candle Holder’ collection which is crafted from 100% recycled cast aluminium.
Finally, if like me your Christmas table wouldn’t be complete without ‘Ripple’ glassware galore, you’ll be pleased to know they can now be paired with not only additional ‘Damo’ glass centrepieces, the new ‘Stelo Cutlery Set’ but also ‘Baies’ textiles. Woven from GOTS-certified organic cotton and pure linen, each nostalgic tablecloth, table runner or napkin is adorned with delicately embroidered chocolate brown berry sprigs, giving even the most everyday moments over the holidays a meaningful touch.
