After being ill in bed for the best part of a week it seems to me that every tv show, magazine and blog is completely obsessed with telling us how to achieve the perfect Christmas.
So with the big day fast approaching and a huge to do list ahead of me, instead of creating yet another one of those posts, I thought I’d round up some last minute festive inspiration from my favourite blogs.
So whether its how to decorate your home, tree or table, what to buy or how to wrap those gifts here’s my top 5:
1. My Scandinavian Home – 5 beautifully, Minimalist Christmas Trees
For me my Christmas tree has to complement my home decor vibe, understated and minimal. Niki’s blog, and her many books for that matter, are a must-read for all Scandi design lovers. In this particular post I adore the idea of having a tree in the bedroom, but with my co-habitants including a trouble-seeking toddler, a crazy cat and over an enthusiastic dog I may need to give it a miss this year!
2. Cate St Hill – Simple Scandinavian Christmas Decorations from Kahler Design
As a self-confessed Kahler Design addict you can image how excited I was to read Cate’s post. I cannot begin to tell you how much I love this Danish brand, every room in my house contains a key piece by them, and Cate’s beautiful styling really does show off their Christmas Nobili range perfectly. If you are looking to add some extra festive touches to your home then these timeless and elegant pieces are a real investment and something you will cherish for years to come.
3. These Four Walls – Simple Christmas Table Styling
Once again Abi’s photography totally blew me away in this post. I love everything about it, the simplicity of the colour scheme through to tying the linen napkins in a contemporary knot. Those grey candles are also going straight to the top of my next shopping list too.
4. That Scandinavian Feeling – Gift Guide for the Scandinavian Design Lover in Your life
How could I not include Ingrid’s fantastic post? As she so rightly says, this list is not just for Christmas but an ideal reference point for any special occasion in a Scandi lover’s life. I won’t lie I do already own a number of these items. Some where given to me as gifts, but I can whole heartedly say I would not be disappointed if I unwrapped any of them on Christmas morning.
5. Millergrey – How to add a touch of style to your Christening wrapping
And finally, how beautiful are Dan’s gifts? This post just goes to prove that you don’t need to spend a fortune to create something amazingly stylish and personal. Also his top tips on how to wrap those awkward gifts and where to find the best tools for the job are invaluable.
