Spring is in the air and what better way to celebrate than with a beautiful blossom-coloured kitchen by Nordiska Kök. Created for a family who live just outside Oslo, this pretty, yet personal design lets pink and green take the lead.
Home to health food entrepreneur, Elisabeth Holst Nyström and her husband Petter, a chef and kitchen manager at the fantastic Holzweiler Platz restaurant, this grand semi-detached Villa may look traditional from the outside, but inside it is anything but.
Mixing dark oak cabinets, rich brass details, and striking apricot Portuguese marble, this jaw-droppingly gorgeous kitchen feels instantly warm and inviting. Offering high quality and fully bespoke designs, Swedish brand Nordiska Kök never fail to impress, and with shipping now available to the UK, one of their award-winning creations could one day live in my Liverpool home too.
When it comes to this colourful kitchen however, what I personally love most is how the grain of the wood and the veins of the marble connect the two distinctly different materials together. This pairing is then complimented even further with the vibrant green walls and authentic ceramics and artworks that adorn them.
Regular visitors to Portugal and Morroco, Elisbeth and Petter have taken this personal sense of interior style through to every room of the house. With further references from their travels found in the colour drenched hallway, the hand-crafted tiles in the bathroom, and playful rugs and customised vintage finds in their living room and bedrooms.
Proving that Nordic design can effortlessly combine time-honoured craftsmanship with contemporary interior trends, you may be pleased to know that this home is actually for sale through Sem & Johnsen.
I’m sure wherever their next home will be, Elisabeth and Petter will once again create something extraordinary.
