For those wanting to add a truly timeless touch of Nordic design to their home this season, then I suggest you look no further than a cosy sheepskin lounge chair. Bringing a feeling of relaxed sophistication and understated luxury to any interior, I can honestly say our classic Swedese Lamino Easy Chair is the most comfortable piece of furniture we own.
And, after having invested in and lived with the iconic Yngve Ekström 1956 design for a year now, the unique qualities of this ancient, super soft natural material make it extremely hard-wearing, easy to clean and temperature responsive.
Not only can I testify that its child and pet proof, an achievement that is always worth shouting about, but it doesn’t attract dirt or dust, and thanks to the natural air pockets within the fibres it cleverly traps heat in when the weather is cold and prevents overheating when it’s hot. Who knew?

So, with many beautiful sheepskin lounge chairs on the market, from mid-century masterpieces; made by the likes of House of Finn Juhl, Warm Nordic and Fredericia, to more contemporary styles from brands including HAY, Ferm Living and &Tradition, I thought I’d share some of my fluffy favourites.
I’ve also included a rather fabulous, and very timely new launch from family-run British retailers Holloways of Ludlow too, who have just released their first-ever furniture collection. Named ‘Woolly’, it features a lounge chair, footstool, sofa and adorable children’s chair, all designed in Denmark and upholstered in the highest quality New Zealand sheepskin.
