I thought it was about time that we headed back to Stockholm to take a closer look at an inspirational home that has recently been renovated by Nordiska Kök and AO/JN Interiors.
Founded by designer Alexandra Ogonowski and architect Jesper Nyborg, AO/JN Interiors focus on creating serene spaces with a sense of authenticity. The perfect pairing I would say to Nordiska Kök’s incredible kitchens.
Located in beautiful Bromma, this light filled family home needed respectfully restoring, carefully balancing the property’s design heritage and much-loved original features with modern functionality that reflects how we live now.
With its curved cabinets, open shelves and soft warm colour scheme, this kitchen really gives a feeling of timeless serenity that is good for the soul.
There’s ample concealed storage for built-in appliances and a split-level kitchen island made from white Quartzite, which serves as both a workspace during the day, as well as an informal place to gather with friends and family over dinner preparations in the evening.
An elegant extra wide doorway then links the tranquil white-and-wood kitchen to the hallway and dining area beyond, all joined together by pale parquet flooring and wooden furniture pieces in richer tones to create contrast. Including my personal favourite, a set of CH24 Wishbone Chairs by Carl Hansen and Son.
With the recent announcement too that Nordiska Kök has teamed up with Scandinavian flooring specialists Chevron Parquet to open an inspiring new showroom in the heart of Copenhagen; safe to say I will definitely be paying a visit myself at the earliest opportunity.
The showroom is located at Palægade 4 ST. TV 1261 Copenhagen and is open Wednesday to Saturday with no appointment needed.
