On a glorious summer’s day back in 2015 I visited a very special Danish house, that of the legendary architect and furniture designer Finn Juhl.

What I experienced on this trip has stayed with me ever since and continues to influence how I decorate my own home today.

Celebrating my 40th birthday in Oslo

I’m just going to come straight out and say it, we had a fantastic time in Oslo last weekend celebrating my 40th birthday.

I didn’t want this post to be just the usual list of what to see, do or eat when spending 48 hours or so in a new city. For one, far better bloggers than me have already done this, and secondly, we travelled with our two year old son which rather limits how much you can realistically achieve and take blog-worthy photos of!

A Nordic bookworm

At this time of year, as the evenings get longer and the central heating goes on, nothing beats a night curled up on the sofa with a good book. 

With having a two year old in the house this unfortunately doesn’t happen often enough, but when I do finally get to put my feet up, I usually pick up my latest Nordic themed read.
