After what has been a summer like no other, I’m welcoming autumn in with open arms. From misty morning dog walks, slow cooked family dinners, to getting cosy on the sofa with a must-read book, it really is the simple things that are bringing me the most joy at the moment.
With that in mind, I thought I’d round up some of my favourite new Nordic releases, so you too can find inspiration within their pages. From picture perfect homes, delicious recipes, to get-away-from-it-all destinations, there really is something for everyone:

Next Chapters in Scandinavian Design: Muuto on Creating Intentional Spaces by Sanne Bolten and Muuto, £66, gestalten
Launched during 3 Days of Design, and published as part of Muuto’s twentieth anniversary celebrations, this much-coveted new book reflects the brands perspective on the five key prinicples of contemporary Scandinavian design as well as looks at what its future may hold.
Scandinavian Everyday: Vibrant, Simple Meals from Northern Europe by Nichole Accettola, £25, Random House
Following the success of Scandinavian from Scratch, this latest book by American chef Nichole Accettola focusses on key elements of the Nordic diet, exploring the rhythms of creating simple meals, seasonal habits and familiar everyday routines that will make each day more memorable.

Chef’s Wild Nordic: Recipes for 72 Micro-Seasons by Sami Tallberg, €36, Cozy Publishing
Having personally interviewed Finnish foraging ambassador and critically acclaimed chef Sami Tallberg a couple of times now I can honestly say his passion for seasonal, local and wild food is truly infectious, with this book proving exactly what good food – and a good life – truly means.
Where the Heart Is: Eight ways to transform your life at home no matter where you live by Katie McCrory, £16, Torva
Whether you rent or own, live solo or part of a growing family, Katie McCrory’s brilliant book will help you transform your home without any DIY. Blending her personal experience of moving from the UK to Copenhagen, with her research for IKEA’s annual Life at Home Report, I couldn’t put this one down.



Stylish Finns by Teresa Saari and Vanessa Forstén, €37, Cozy Publishing
Just like the Instagram account of the same name, this book opens the doors to Finnish homes oozing with eclectic quality, a keen eye for beauty and thoughtful design choices. Offering readers ideas, inspiration and a fresh perspective on Nordic living, I can’t recommended Teressa’s book enough.
The Art of Less: An exploration of essence by Norm Architects and Aesence, £60, Gestalten
Co-written by Jonas Bjerre-Poulsen of Norm Architects and Sarah Dorweiler of creative platform Aesence, this beautifully bound book profiles twenty artists, designers, and architects from around the world whose work and lifestyle is dedicated to a more minimalist approach.
In Fashion by Pierre Toromanoff, £50, ACC Art Books
Part of a growing series of popular travel titles, take a deep dive into the Danish capital’s most fashionable hotspots, discover the latest sustainable street style trends you’ll want to try at home, and map out those all-important shopping destinations before for your next visit.
The Iconic Nordic House: Modern Masterworks Since 1900 by Dominic Bradbury and Richard Powers, £50, Thames & Hudson
Showcasing forty unique homes from the likes of Arne Jacobsen and Alvar Aalto through to Jørn Utzon and Bjarke Ingels, this latest publication from British writer Dominic Bradbury, celebrates their shared histories as well as the key characteristics that inspired them all.
