I’m beyond excited to be sharing my latest home tour with you, as I’ve wanted to feature the jaw-droppingly beautiful house of interior stylist and photographer Hali Mason on the Nordic Notes blog for a very long time.
Brimming with Nordic furniture, lighting and accessories, Hali’s home is less than an hour’s drive away from my own, in a leafy Manchester suburb called Didsbury, and with its independent shops, restaurants and abundance of green spaces it’s the perfect location to enjoy family life with her husband and young son.
Over to Hali to find out more:
“I love Manchester and Didsbury in particular, we lived in several rented flats around the area before buying our 1950s semi three years ago. Everything gets snapped up so quickly in this area and after missing out on a few properties we were lucky to find a spacious house with the potential to make our own.
The house was in a poor state we when first moved in as it hadn’t been touched for the best part of 40 years, and while we didn’t need to make any structural changes, it did need a lot of care and attention, so we pretty much started from scratch.
Completely redecorating has been incredibly hard work but so worthwhile. We did most of the work ourselves and it has given me the opportunity to really explore my love for interiors as well as put my own stamp on every room.
If I had to describe my interior style it would be minimalist and neutral with a balance between impactful and subtle. I am completely lighting obsessed, and my Flos Arrangements pendant by the incredible Michael Anastassiades, which I first saw at Milan Design Week in 2018, now takes pride of place in my Manchester home.
For me home should be a sanctuary. A place to be at peace and where you can relax with those you love most.”
