It’s finally here. The Autumn/Winter 2020 collection from Ferm Living is now on sale, and I’m sure you will agree it was well worth the wait.
Officially launched at 3 Days of Design, I excitedly watched Founder and Creative Director, Trine Andersen chat with hospitality expert, Julie Von Sperling, at Ferm Living’s new store and showroom, about developing their latest designs and creating that all important feeling of home.
For Autumn/Winter, Ferm Living, is focusing on our homes being spaces of sanctuary, rest and respite, which is definitely something each and every one of us has come to appreciate more than ever this year.
Whether you’re looking for calm and harmonious pieces to enhance your surroundings, or something imaginative and quirky, Ferm Living will help you to curate a space that perfectly reflects who you are and how you live.
To help you pick out the pieces you will love, I thought I’d share some of my favourites.
Organic curves
Once again classic curves and organic shapes are a recurring theme in Ferm Living’s Autumn/Winter homeware collection. For me there are a number of stand out pieces, the Insert Coffee Table, with its sculptural form and geometric joints, and then there are not one, but two, beautiful new lamps.
The gorgeous, powder coated, Meridian Lamp, is available in black, cashmere and brass and was produced in collaboration with the design studio Regular Company. Plus, it’s portable too, which as you probably know makes it a must-have for me.
If you are looking for more of a vintage vibe, then the Bell Table Lamp is for you, with its sleek opal glass and chrome base. And for those of you who adore the Pond Mirror, you will be glad to know it is now available in an extra-large size, measuring almost a metre in height.
Pops of colour
Like many Nordic design brands, Ferm Living are also embracing more colour this season, from pops of pure primary hues through to softer earthy tones.
For Autumn/Winter there are lots of coloured glass and ceramics to tempt even the most devout monochrome decorator, including the mouth-blown Water Swirl Vase and the Casca Vase, which comes in six colours no less, with the indigo blue and dandelion yellow catching my eye.
Plus, the ever popular Ferm Living Plant Box is now available in a gorgeous olive green, while the Rico Lounge Chair and Haze Vitrine cabinet come in a striking poppy red.
Cosy home comforts
Contrasting these strong silhouettes and vibrant shades, this collection is also very much focussed on comfort, with raw, natural materials being used to create pieces you just want to touch.
There are chunky, braided rugs with extra long piles, chunky fringed cushions, soft lambswool blankets with an updated classic herringbone weave, and matte glazed stoneware vases covered in tiny sensual grains.
So, what do you think of the new collection? With many incredible new pieces to choose from, which will be making their way into your home this season?
