It’s finally here. No not the end of the school holidays (though I must say at times it’s been a very long six weeks), but the Autumn-Winter 2021 collection from Ferm Living.
Titled ‘Seasonal Treasures’, this much anticipated launch celebrates the comfort and affection of home. A mix of carefully curated furniture, lighting, and accessories that perfectly reflect the new era we are all now living in.
For me, the real stand-outs are the smaller items, as it’s always those little details that give me the most pleasure. Though in all honesty I wouldn’t say no to working every day at the beautiful ‘Feve’ desk, or curling up every evening on the ‘Catena’ sofa, now it also comes in a super soft wool boucle fabric.
From the ‘Mineral Sculpture Table’ through to the ‘Creases Wool Rug’, every piece in the Ferm Living Autumn-Winter 2021 collection is packed with creativity and sensitivity. Colours are playful and earthy, patterns are understated but full of expression, while the materials chosen are strong yet tactile.
There are also a number of additions to existing much-loved Ferm Living favourites which all fans of the brand will be pleased to see, including a recycled glass version of the mouth-blown ‘Water Swirl’ vase and bowl, an extra-large ‘Ceramic Basket’ which will be perfect for my growing collection of houseplants, and a brushed steel version of their portable ‘Meridan’ lamp.
As a testimony to the lives we now live, the Autumn-Winter 2021 collection from Ferm Living allows us all to create homes with soul; to slowly build around us a collection of meaningful and treasured objects, that aren’t about trends or quick fixes. Today it’s about creating a place we can all find a little peace and belonging, while at the same time make lasting and cherished memories with those we love most.
