Even though we’ve been experiencing an incredible summer heatwave of late it hasn’t stopped me looking forward to what the new season has in store, especially when it’s as exciting as the latest releases from Kristina Dam Studio.
For autumn-winter 2021, Kristina and her Copenhagen based design team take inspiration from the beauty and strength found in natural materials. Titled, ‘The Collector Collection’, every piece celebrates a more sustainable and paired-back approach.
The oiled oak Collector Dining Table and Chair, perfectly showcases Kristina Dam’s love of simple silhouettes. Yet this design is anything but, thanks to its unique curves and beautifully dowelled walnut joints.
The Cone Lamp series plays with striking geometrics and contrasting finishes. This time the walnut details sit alongside smooth brushed steel, and with their tapered shape they instantly draw your attention.
Meanwhile the elegant Modernist Sofa and Lounge Chair is given a 1960’s feel with its new cognac brown and white striped wool upholstery. While the Minimal Daybed and Bench are now available in soft black Aniline leather.
My final highlight however is not only great to look at but super practical too. The Curved Side Table and Bench series is joined by the Curved Box, adding an elegant storage option to the existing popular furniture.
Whether made from oak, marble or steel, every piece in the Collector Collection embodies the timeless appeal of Nordic minimalism while pushing quality craftsmanship and production techniques to their very limits.
