While the start of the year may feel like an awfully long time ago now, one of my happiest days was spent with Danish interiors brand, Broste Copenhagen, finding out more about their Spring Summer 2020 collection.
I’ve never needed special moments like this more than over these past few weeks; whether it has been reminiscing with loved ones, scrolling through old photographs or dreaming of our next adventure when all this is over, whenever that is.
In fact, it is strong memories and feelings such as these that Broste Copenhagen has taken as their starting point for this very collection; creating pieces that will become part of your future life stories.
Even with a 60-year history, Broste Copenhagen, like Danish design as a whole, continues to evolve. This heritage informs a selection of timeless products which continue to be bought throughout the year, as well as inspiring new pieces created specifically for each seasonal collection.
As always, their furniture, lighting and home accessories are bang on trend, showcasing the very latest in must-have shapes, silhouettes and hues.
So, when they asked me a couple of weeks ago to collaborate with them; I knew exactly which pieces I wanted to showcase to demonstrate the Broste Copenhagen interiors style.
Clean lines
As you would expect, clean lines and practical functionality are at the heart of all Broste Copenhagen’s designs.
But what I love about their smart, beautiful and multifunctional new furniture pieces, whether it’s an upholstered sofa, an oak dining table, or even a simple drinking glass, is that they have been cleverly designed to grow and adapt to meet your changing needs, ensuring whatever you invest in now will truly stand the test of time.
Colour confidence
Like many of the Nordic brands, Broste Copenhagen have fully embraced colour more than ever this season. Highlighted in My Guide to 2020, colour is influencing every aspect of interiors at the moment, including paint, textiles and glassware.
Pastel pale tones of yellow, pink and lilac, as well as deeper and warmer shades of mustard, green and plum are being used to soften and lift the traditional black, white and grey palette. A little certainly goes a long way.
Smooth curves
Soft, round, and organic shapes are everywhere at the moment. It’s as if our interiors knew we would all be needing a huge hug.
As you know I’ve been a huge fan of adding sculptural forms into my home through ceramics, vases and mirrors for a long time now, and so, it would seem are Broste Copenhagen.
