As a child it was always my job to dress the table for Christmas, and while my own home may not be a riot of 1980s colour and pattern, it is still a task that continues to evoke the happiest of family memories.
True to Scandinavian style, I like to keep my festive decorations simple and understated, but by bringing together some of my most treasured pieces it always feels special whatever the occasion.
Curve Stoneware collection
This year, with my son getting to an age where he too will remember Christmas as a child, I decided to give my festive table a refresh.
Utilising greenery gathered from outdoors, flickering candlelight and co-ordinated dinnerware from Danish company, LindDNA its certainly going to be a ‘hyggelig’ affair.
I had the pleasure of visiting the LindDNA showroom in Copenhagen for myself earlier this year and instantly fell in love with their Curve Stoneware collection.
Everyday family dining
With its quietly confident shapes and calm colours, the timeless off-white I opted for looks beautiful against the minimal grey table linen. The organic forms also complement my favourite glassware and ever-growing collection of candle holders too.
Also, with the pieces being made from high density stoneware they are more robust than porcelain. Perfectly suited for everyday family dining, they can go in the freezer, in the oven and in the dishwasher. Phew!
Made with care
Another reason I was super keen to invest in pieces from LindDNA was because of their sustainability credentials.
Based in Aarhus, Denmark’s second largest city since 2013, LindDNA have always taken pride in their eco-friendly production methods as well as responsibly sourcing all their materials to ensure every product is of the highest quality and craftsmanship, as well as made with care.
This is an approach that I know I’m not alone in championing this festive season.
