The start of the new year marks a rather special anniversary for one of my favourite Danish brands, Kristina Dam Studio, as they are celebrating ten years of incredible interior design.
My interview with Brand and Design Director Kristina Dam back in 2020 was, and still is, one of my favourite Nordic Notes moments. With Kristina’s distinctive take on ‘sculptural minimalism’, as well as her ability to reference art, architecture, and graphic design into every product will forever be an inspiration of mine.
So what better way to commemorate a decade of success then with a sneak-peak at some of the amazing new pieces from the Kristina Dam Studio SS22 ‘Frame Collection’.
Cone Lamp
The striking Cone Lamp series, with its bold geometric shapes and contrasting finishes of warm walnut and cool brushed steel, gains an elegant floor lamp this Spring-Summer, perfectly complementing the existing classic pendants, versatile table lamp and unique spinning top light.
Japanese Tray Tables
Surely the must-have piece of the collection, the Japanese Tray Tables come in three sizes and double up as stylish seating when topped with fitted cushions. A Scandinavian take on the traditional incense boxes of the Edo era, the individually crafted oak trays are also available to buy separately for those of us with a smaller furniture budget.
Dowel Mirrors
An elegant addition to any room in your home, whether a hallway, bedroom or bathroom, the Dowel Mirrors showcase Kristina Dam Studio’s minimal design techniques at their finest with their sleek steel frame and centred walnut plug. There are also complementary wall hooks and even a toilet roll holder available too.
Jewellery Display
One of the smaller items that has really caught my eye is the beautiful Jewellery Display. Choose from walnut or natural oak and simply pop one on your dressing table, nightstand, or hang on the wall to keep all your most treasured items safely stored away until you need them.
Frame Sculpture
The final item I had to tell you about is the Frame Sculpture. A very special piece of art to mark the anniversary made from powder coated steel. Taking inspiration from the interplay between light and shadow, don’t worry if you don’t have space in your home or garden for one though as there is also a Frame Abstraction Poster to collect instead.
