If you’re anything like me then the only way you’re going to get through January is to focus on the new season ahead. And, with several design fairs coming up over the coming weeks, including the ever-inspirational Maison&Objet, it seems that many of my favourite names in Nordic interiors are doing just the same.
One SS25 collection that will be making its debut in Paris and is currently helping to ease away my winter blues is that of Swedish textile company, Himla. Founded in 1990 and led by owner and Creative Director Annica Högström since 1996, this Uppsala-based brand is loved worldwide for its simple philosophy and minimal aesthetic.
From cushions and rugs, bedspreads and throws, through to tablecloths and towels; Himla’s beautifully tactile and luxurious living and dining products can be used in every room of the home.
Designed to be mixed and matched, as well as to last a lifetime, they are also carefully crafted from the highest quality GOTS and OEKO-TEX certified linen, wool, silk and cotton so you can be proud of your purchase, not just for the way it looks, but for the positive work being done to protect our planet too.
With a core collection based around timeless Scandinavian elegance and natural beauty, it’s their breezy and bold SS25 additions that have really caught my eye. Taking inspiration from the sparkling Mediterranean coastline, and the laid-back yet sophisticated lifestyle of the region, each and every piece is packed full of sunshine, joy and creativity.
With Annica herself splitting her time between her family farmhouse in rural Sweden and a waterfront apartment in Nice, safe to say on a dark winter’s day, it’s hard to resist those vibrant reddish pinks, bright burnt oranges and lush fresh greens, and I for one can’t wait to dress my garden dining area with some of those classic French Riviera stripes once the weather finally warms up.
The ideal way to refresh and revitalise your home once the Christmas decorations have been packed away for another year, the new SS25 collection from Himla is sure to bring the spirit of summer a little closer.
