If there’s one thing that lifts the spirits on a dark and damp January day, it’s receiving details from Ferm Living about their SS21 Pre-Collection.
Called, ‘Outdoor Poetry’, every piece is designed to celebrate the magic of being outdoors and the uplifting feeling we’ve all rediscovered over the last twelve months, of spending time out in nature.
Whether you’ve a rolling manicured garden in the countryside, a toy strewn patch in the middle of a city, or a tiny balcony above a bustling street, the new Ferm Living pieces are here to help you create a tranquil space in which to appreciate moments of reflection, as well as a safe space to enjoy when catching up with others.
The SS21 Pre-Collection is a mixture of fresh designs along with some much-loved favourites re-imagined in new warm and earthy tones. Here are some of my favourites:
Libra Watering Can
Modelled on a classic water pitcher, the Libra Watering Can is lightweight, streamlined and made from 100% recycled plastic. Available in black, cashmere and olive, gardeners will also be glad to hear that it is super practical too, as it can hold up to five litres of water, making that weekly feed all the easier.
Perfect for any sized garden, the Peka Bench is made from sustainable, FSC-certified Accoya treated pine. The Accoya treatment makes the wood frost, water and rot resistant so there’s no need for additional treatments. All you need to do is brush and wash it down. It even has a narrow shelf tucked behind the backrest for you to enjoy cups of tea on a frosty morning or a glass of something chilled on a warm summer evening.
Desert Lounge Chair and Stool
The Desert Chair was THE piece to have when launched last year whether used indoor or outside. With its elegant tubular steel powder coated frame and woven seat made from recycled plastic bottles, there are a number of new colours and patterns available, including a striking poppy red.
Level Side Table
Made with a similar modern expression, the geometric frame of Level Side Table is formed from a single, continual line. With two shelves, this piece, which is again available in olive, cashmere and black, offers extra storage for both outdoor and interior spaces. I know it would certainly fit in perfectly alongside existing pieces in my home and garden.
Ceramic Basket and Centrepiece
Another piece I’m super pleased to have been included again is the pretty Ceramic Basket, which is now joined by a 29cm diameter centrepiece bowl. All are available in a bright blue, as well as cashmere and off-white. Whether used as a fruit bowl, breadbasket or flowerpot, their multifunctional design is sculpted by hand, blending traditional basket weaving techniques with pottery.
