After spending most of last week completely captivated by 3 Days of Design, I thought I’d take a closer look at what one of my favourite brands &Tradition got up to.
Showcasing new and existing products through a series of unique room settings, their immersive exhibition ‘Under One Roof,’ was designed to thrill every sense as well as inspire the mind.
On arriving at the 18th century building &Tradition call home, guests were greeted by ‘Hurricane’ lanterns recently designed by Space Copenhagen before heading on through a quaint courtyard to the ‘Verner Panton Lounge’.
Telling the story of this innovative Dane’s approach to colour, pattern and texture in true seventies style, &Tradition have spent the time since my last visit also extending their fantastic Lille Petra Café, opening an exclusive onsite shop, and creating a calming area called ‘Mnemonic,’ which is filled with a new range of refined scented products.
Above that on the first floor, long-term collaborator Spanish artist Jaime Hayon, presented ‘Teatro Surreal’. A dramatic display offering a first look at, as well as demonstrating the thinking behind, his ‘Momento’ and ‘Formakami Limited Edition’ collections in preparation for their official release this autumn.
Adjacent to this a further two rooms showcase the extended ‘Rely’ range by the award-winning furniture designer Hee Welling as well as the new ‘Mist’ lamp and pendant made alongside graphic design duo All the Way to Paris.
If that wasn’t enough, what had once been the brand’s day-to-day offices on the third floor have now been converted into a series of archive and exhibition spaces, along with an incredible private dining area and bar.
Finally on the top floor, with its picture-perfect views across the city, this entire space has been transformed into ‘The Apartment’: a ‘real-life’ home away from home demonstrating how every amazing piece of furniture, lighting and interior object you have seen on your journey through this building can be combined under one roof.
