As a new month gets underway, I thought it was time to share another of my favourite new season collections with you. This time it’s Menu: a Danish design brand I believe always creates exceptional products, and does so for all the right reasons too.
At Menu they believe that great design, whether it’s furniture, lighting or interior accessories, should bring people and places together; creating a deep feeling of belonging as well as a sense of community.
And while I may not be able to see their latest additions, at their phenomenal showroom at The Audo in person just yet, as you will see from these beautifully styled photos, the soft colours, rich materials and tactile finishes chosen are going to look and feel amazing in any home for many years to come.
Starting with my favourite furniture pieces, the sculptural ‘Androgyne Collection’, designed by architect Danielle Siggerud, now includes a bold rectangular oak dining table which seats a whopping 8-10 people. Plus, those Insta famous side tables now come with either an intense Emparador or striking Calacatta Viola marble top.
Another favourite of mine are the new ‘Passage Lounge Table and Stool’ by Copenhagen based team Kroyer-Saetter-Lassen. Available in a natural and dark-lacquered finish, as well as three size options, all are made from FSC-certified oak and come handily flat-packed. Whether used as a stand-alone piece, or grouped together, you know these pieces will work hard and look better with age.
When it comes to lighting the ‘Levitate Pendant’ from Stockholm’s Afteroom Studio looks incredible. Designed to float effortlessly in the air, the aluminium and glass shade is available in either a 28cm or 40cm diameter, with either a soft sage green, black or grey finish and has super stylish brass details.
As the proud owner of a ‘Carrie Table Lamp’ myself, I couldn’t not include the new look design in this post. For 2021 Norm Architects have given this sleek mouth-blown opal glass portable lamp a bronzed brass finish and added beautiful leather strap details to the handle.
With so many gorgeous new home accessories to share, my favourites are the ‘Ribbon Basket’, a curvaceous powder coated steel basket for storing books, magazines, cushions and blankets as well as the reimagined ‘Échasse Vase and Bowl’. This elegant glassware now comes in amber or green smoked glass and sits on either brass or bronzed brass slender stilt-like legs.
