After a much-needed few days away with my family, I wanted to share some more Nordic travel inspiration with you: Object The Apartment. Thankfully for those of us who are choosing to holiday at home this year, it’s right here in the UK, in fact it’s just an hour’s drive from where I live.
Found in the leafy Manchester suburb of Chorlton, Object The Apartment is the perfect luxury staycation for any design lover. Owned by husband and wife team, Alex and Rachael Otterwell, it’s also conveniently located above their gorgeous lifestyle store too.
This open-plan, two-bedroom, two-level space has been designed to make the most of every inch. I particularly love how carefully considered every detail is, from the earthy colour palette, the glossy green tiles and terrazzo flooring in the bathroom, through to the bespoke kitchen with its warm grain covered cabinets.
After travelling extensively together for the last decade, Object The Apartment, also perfectly reflects the couples love for Nordic quality craftsmanship and bespoke handmade pieces. With furniture, tableware and everyday objects sensitively chosen, both for their functionality as well as their beauty.
With being self-catering, guests are also welcomed with a hamper filled with artisan goods from local Chorlton businesses, which can all be found within walking distance of the apartment, before hoping on the tram to explore Manchester’s famous city centre with its abundance of bustling shops, restaurants and cultural venues.
“We wanted to create a haven to enjoy with others or perhaps some solo downtime. A place for relaxing, for indulging and a base for exploring, a place to remember and one you will want to return to.”
Rachael Otterwell, Owner, Object The Apartment
